French Film Company
Scope – Quercus were awarded the design and fitout for the prestigious French media company’s new headquarters on Carnaby Street. The office is focused on creating a space that combines creativity, comfort, and practicality. Here’s a summary of the design approach and key elements:
Neutral Colour Palette: The client wanted to move away from their corporate colours, opting for a more neutral colour palette to create a calm and welcoming environment.
Carnaby Street Influence: As the location is known for its cool, social vibe, the design team sought to reflect this energy in the workspace, giving it a contemporary and vibrant feel that matches the areas character.
Workspaces for Diverse Roles: The design had to cater to a variety of employees, from creatives and writers to executives, ensuring the space felt like a “home from home” for everyone.
Boardroom Design: While the boardroom is typically a corporate space, it was designed to resemble a friend’s dining table, encouraging open conversation and the free flow of ideas. This makes the room less formal and more conducive to collaborative discussions.
Meeting Rooms: The smaller meeting rooms have a relaxed, lounge-like atmosphere, offering a comfortable setting for discussions while still being equipped with practical AV technology for effective meetings.
Tea Point: Designed as an open, social area, the tea point is intended to make the space feel more homely and encourage informal interactions among staff.
Open Plan Desk Area: The open desk area is surrounded by high bookcases, allowing employees to personalise the space with books or other items, creating an individualised work environment that reflects their personalities.
The overall design aims to balance a creative and comfortable atmosphere with the functional needs of a modern office, making it an ideal environment for collaboration and innovation for the company.
